Season ticket sales outlook

Less than a week after Dan McCarney reported that UTSA had sold 9,101 season tickets, he has already updated the number to 9,482. According to the report, nearly 400 season tickets have been sold in the last week alone, which comes out to be more than 50 tickets per day.

As the inaugural game for UTSA approaches, season ticket sales have been skyrocketing. In the last 40 days UTSA has sold around 2,500 season tickets, which is the same amount sold in the seven month span from October to May.

If sales continue at their current pace, UTSA could expect somewhere around 11,000 to 12,000 season ticket holders by September 3.

With those numbers, we would easily surpass most of the FCS and bottom-tier FBS (MAC, Sun Belt, WAC) schools, and we would likely be in the same ballpark as Conference USA and Mountain West Conference members, as you can see in the chart to the right, which includes schools that reported 2010 season ticket numbers between 10,000 and 13,000.
