UTSA back up to 20 commitments

With just one day to go until National Signing Day, UTSA has picked up another commitment. According to Dan McCarney, Alamo Heights LB/DE Skylar Nelson will be switching his commitment from New Mexico State over to UTSA, but might be gray shirted, which would postpone his scholarship status until the next signing class, as UTSA did with 2011 graduate Jordan Grey. Nelson’s status will depend upon whether or not another recruit chooses UTSA:

UTSA has another offer out to yet another mystery recruit. If Player X accepts, Nelson will join the Roadrunners as a gray shirt, meaning his scholarship won’t kick in until the second semester of next year.

Skylar Nelson is rated as a 2-star prospect by most of the major recruiting services, and you can find out more about him at the following links:

Earlier this week, Stratford defensive end Jarvis Pruitt switched his commitment from UTSA to SMU after visiting their campus over the weekend, which dropped the commitment count back down to 19.

According to an e-mail sent out by the UTSA Athletics Department, the official signing day press release will be posted on goUTSA.com at 2pm tomorrow, February 1st.

Finally, If you haven’t done so already, head on over to the Rowdyville Recruiting Forum and discuss the latest developments with the UTSA community.
