Track & Field

UTSA track & field coach Aaron Fox was named the Southland Conference Outdoor Coach of the Year late last week. Fox helped coach the men’s team to their fourth conference title in school history, earning them a trip to Austin this weekend for the NCAA Championships Preliminary Rounds.

Baseball

The Roadrunner baseball team only earned one victory in the three-game series over the weekend against Lamar, putting an end to their rather disappointing season. The team finishes with a 22-32 overall record and 11-21 in conference, giving them the worst record in the league.

Commissioner’s Cup

Now that the baseball season has come to a close, the Southland Conference has announced the final standings for the Commissioner’s Cup, which is given to the school with the best all-around performance in all sports sponsored by the conference. Stephen F. Austin took home the Cup for the second time in school history, while Lamar took the Men’s title and Texas State took the Women’s title. UTSA finished third in both the overall standings and women’s standings, and fourth in men’s.
