First offer of 2013

The first known offer for the 2013 recruiting cycle is out, and it belongs to East Central defensive back Austin Jupe. He has been considered one of the top recruits in the San Antonio area and he’s beginning to get noticed by some of the top programs in the state, but UTSA is his only reported offer thus far. You can see some of his highlights here.

In other recruiting news, it appears that UTSA may be losing its sole defensive line commit, as Jarvis Pruitt was recently offered by SMU and is planning a visit this weekend. According to PonyStampede.com, Pruitt is best friends with an SMU commit and could likely pull the trigger this weekend and decommit from UTSA.

Also, Texas State recently pulled their offer from Donovan Williams (OL – Madison HS), who will now be left to decide between UTSA and Nevada.

Here’s a recap of some other UTSA recruits who made their decisions to commit elsewhere:
Chris Grishby (OT – Blinn) committed to Oklahoma State over the weekend.
Leo Thomas (DB – Sam Houston HS) committed to Arizona over the weekend.
Dennis Smith (RB – Wimberley HS) committed to Blinn on Tuesday.
Perry Meiklejohn (OL – El Camino) and Anthony Harris (DB – El Camino) both committed to South Alabama.
