DAVID MORGAN II
TE – Minnesota Vikings – UTSA ’11-’15
It was another disappointing week for fans of David Morgan, as the sixth-round draft pick only saw the field for two offensive snaps (3%) and five special teams snaps (19%) in the Vikings’ Monday night loss to the Bears.
It was a slight improvement over last week when all of the blocking tight end snaps went to incumbent Rhett Ellison, but it’s also the second straight week with less than 20% of snaps featuring two tight ends.

But the big news after the game was the resignation of offensive coordinator Norv Turner. While Turner was a big proponent of tight ends and the two-TE system, his replacement Pat Shurmur won’t be much different.
Shurmur’s familiarity with the unit may also work in Morgan’s favor, as he spent the first half of the season coaching tight ends and was likely involved in the decision to draft Morgan in April.
