About

I created this site in 2009 with a simple mission – tracking the first class of commits for the UTSA Roadrunners football team. At the time, it wasn’t named RowdyReport. It didn’t really have a name at all. It was just a website with a bunch of photos, stats, articles and various links for each commit. Over time it expanded (and went through a couple different free domain names) to include future schedules and scheduling rumors for UTSA football, and an article database with the goal of preserving some of the most important news dating back to the days when UTSA football was just a dream.

Once we hit 2011, and we were on the heels of the inaugural UTSA football season, it became difficult to keep track of all the recruiting news, conference shakeups and other news about the program. So I decided to turn this website into a blog. The site went through some phases of primarily sharing news from other sources, to writing more original material, to breaking some pretty big news. But somewhere along the way a bunch of other UTSA-related sites popped up, existing sites continued to grow, I graduated from UTSA and took a full-time job in Houston, Rowdyville mysteriously went offline, and I sort of just let this thing fade away.

Fast-forward to the 2016 football season. A handful of other sites have come and gone (one of which was a blog about my travels to every UTSA game in 2013 and 2014). Most of the old Rowdyville crew is either at RowdyTalk or Rivals or Twitter. David Morgan became UTSA’s first NFL draft pick. And we have more news sources and forums and podcasts than anyone could have ever imagined.

So that brings us to the new mission of RowdyReport – bringing you the latest news about UTSA athletics that no one else is talking about, but should be. Like the aforementioned Morgan, and his fellow alumni in the NFL. Or some of our other sports not named football or basketball. Or anything else that has anything to do with UTSA that I want to research and share with you guys.

Now that you know more than you probably wanted to about RowdyReport, I’d love to hear from you. If you like the site, or have something you think we should be talking about, or maybe you want to write something for the site, feel free to post a comment here or reach out to RowdyReport on Twitter or Facebook.

Enjoy the site and GO RUNNERS!
